SAN DIEGO, June 19, 2009 – The Cohn Restaurant Group (CRG) will open the new location of the Corvette Diner and Gamers Garage on Monday, June 22, 2009. CRG recently closed the original Hillcrest location after 22 years to move the 1950’s diner to the Historic Liberty Station community of San Diego. The new restaurant boasts several improvements, but still holds true to the Corvette Diner tradition of fun and family dining, Rock n&#8217; Roll vibes and sassy waitresses in bouffant hair-dos and retro-costumes.</p>
<p>Corvette Diner in Liberty Station is an easily accessible location in central San Diego, located off Rosecrans near the community of Point Loma. The restaurant is twice as large as the original Hillcrest location and occupies 13,000 square feet, has seating for 300 and plentiful parking. The Gamers Garage, Corvette Diner’s new arcade, occupies 5,500 square feet of the restaurant and features more than 50 games for kids of all ages.</p>
<p>Other features include three distinctively themed dining areas, a full bar for adults, a soda-fountain, Disc Jockey booth and two private dining areas, one that was designed by the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego for birthday parties and special events. The Corvette Diner has added several new items to their original menu which features burgers, shakes and diner-favorites like meat loaf, chicken fried steak and a large selection of salads and sandwiches.</p>
<p>“We are excited to open the Corvette Diner in Liberty Station and join this historic community that has undergone a massive revitalization in past years to become home to dozens of thriving businesses,” said David Cohn, president of the Cohn Restaurant Group. “We invite the San Diego community to dine with us starting June 22 and join us on July 11 and 12 for a grand opening celebration that is open to all.”</p>
<p>On July 11 and 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Corvette Diner will host the First Annual Corvette Diner &amp; Gamers Garage Summer Bash, a grand opening celebrating the new Liberty Station location. This two-day event is free and open to the public and will take place on the Corvette Diner’s parking lot, located at 2965 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego. The Bash will include a showcase of more than 100 Corvettes courtesy of the Corvette Owners Club of San Diego and the Corvettes of San Diego; a stage for live musical performances by the ShamRockers, Lady Dottie &amp; the Diamonds and HELP! A Beatles Tribute Band; and face painters and balloon makers for the kids.</p>
<p>During the event, guests can dine at the Corvette Diner and play arcade games at Gamers Garage. Event guests in Retro Costume will be entered into a random drawing to win a Corvette Diner Party Package Valued at $500 that includes dinner for ten at Corvette Diner in Liberty Station, ten $20 game cards and ten Corvette Diner custom t-shirts.</p>
<p>The Corvette Diner &amp; Gamers Garage is located at 2965 Historic Decatur Road, San Diego, CA 92106.
